Report: Florida's property insurance rates have risen by 42.5% since 2019

(The Center Square) — A new report shows that insurance rates for property owners in the Sunshine State have increased exponentially over the past few years.

Florida TaxWatch released an in-depth analysis of Florida's property insurance market, examining underlying factors contributing to its instability and 42.5% rise since 2019. These include damages from hurricanes and litigation, which have put pressure on insurers and forced some to leave the state.

One million Floridians have been disenrolled from Medicaid since 2023

(The Center Square) — Data from the Kaiser Family Foundation shows over one million Floridians were disenrolled from Medicaid since 2023, primarily for administrative reasons.

As of July 12, over 24 million U.S residents. have been disenrolled from Medicaid.

The federal government asked states to provide continuous Medicaid coverage to those enrolled during the COVID-19 pandemic, even if their circumstances changed, making them ineligible for coverage.

Trump wounded in attack at Pennsylvania rally

(The Center Square) – A bloody former President Donald Trump shook his fist into the air to show his supporters he was only wounded in what appeared to have been an attack against him at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania. 

The presumed Republican candidate for president this November was speaking at a campaign rally in Butler, Penn., when reporters there say they heard "pops" and saw Trump grab at his right ear. Campaign security quickly surrounded Trump and lowered him to the podium floor.

Federal judge pauses Biden's partial liquefied natural gas export ban

(The Center Square) – A federal judge on Monday temporarily blocked the Biden administration's ban on new exports of liquified natural gas exports to non-free trade agreement countries.

Judge James Cain Jr. of the Western District of Louisiana issued a preliminary injunction against the U.S. Department of Energy's partial LNG export ban after more than a dozen states sued, arguing the ban was illegal.
